Broken House Records is proud to announce The Griot, the new album from MUSIATA, out Friday 13 November 2026.
The Griot is sixteen songs, each one a chapter with its own story and illustrated panels, all belonging to one record. It follows a keeper of the record, the Griot, who listens, remembers and doesn’t always tell the official version. The album draws on Southern Africa, Manchester and St. Louis. It’s about belonging, memory and the gap between what’s said and what’s lived.
The focus track is Famous Rivers, chapter fifteen, a song about water and roots and the journeys that carry people across borders.
The Griot follows Quiet Is a Lie, MUSIATA’s 17-track album released on Broken House Records in March 2026.
Pre-save The Griot now and it’ll be waiting in your library on release day.
