Who we are

This website, brokenhr.com, is run by Broken House Records LLC. To contact us about privacy, contact us via the Contact page.

The short version

You can browse this site without giving us any personal information. We don’t sell anything on this site yet, we don’t take payments, and we don’t sell or rent anyone’s data.

What is collected when you visit

  • Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider (IONOS) records technical information when pages are requested: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It’s used to keep the site running and secure, and kept for a limited period.
  • Cookies, the Meta pixel and the Google tag. Our own visit statistics don’t use cookies (see below). For visitors outside the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, our pages also load two advertising measurement tools: the Meta pixel, from Meta, which helps us measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform, and the Google tag, from Google, which helps us measure how our Google ads perform. When they load, your browser sends Meta and Google the address of the page you’re on and technical details such as your IP address and browser type. Meta may set cookies such as _fbp, and Google may set cookies such as _gcl_au. We only measure page views with these tools: we don’t use them for remarketing, and we ask Google not to use this data for personalized ads. For visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, or when we can’t tell where you are, neither tool loads until you click Accept on our cookie banner, and if you click Reject, neither loads. We also load Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that can load other Google measurement tags we set up, under these same consent rules. Your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) for 12 months, and you can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Meta uses this data as described in Meta’s Privacy Policy, and Google as described in Google’s Privacy Policy (see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services). Login cookies are only set for people who manage the site.
  • Visit statistics. We count visits ourselves, on this site only, without cookies. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded. Your IP address is used only to look up an approximate city (IP Geolocation by DB-IP) and is not stored. To count returning visits, your browser keeps one small random value in local storage (not a cookie), which you can clear at any time. Returning visits aren’t counted for visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, and nothing is kept in their browser for this. Visit records are kept for 13 months and are not shared with anyone.
  • Fonts and scripts. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your data to a font service.

Links to other services

Our pages link to streaming services (such as Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer) and to DistroKid’s HyperFollow page for pre-saves. When you follow those links you leave our site, and those services’ own privacy policies apply. Some release pages also show a Spotify player, which is loaded from Spotify, and Spotify’s privacy policy applies to it. Links from our site may carry campaign tags (UTM parameters) that tell those services, and us, that the visit came from brokenhr.com. The tags don’t identify you.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t run a store or take payments on this site. When a store opens, this policy will be updated first.
  • We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. To do that, contact us via the Contact page. Depending on where you live (for example the UK, EU or California), you may have further rights under local law, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
